Improved Method of Jhum cultivation programme
The production of Jhum rice has been increased of 991 kg per
hectare in 2009-10 from the level of 690 kg/ ha in 1972.
Increasing productivity of rice
Successful seed replacement, increased irrigation potential,
use of Bio fertilizer which support sustainable soil
management and over all adoption of integrated crop
Management practices including system of Rice
Intensification (SRI), helped to increase the productivity
rice from 978 kg/ha during 1971-72, to 2,607 kg/ha in

1998 to 258 tons at the end of 2009-2010 in the state.
